After a long week, we had a good Saturday :) The 1st year teacher mentor from last year came to Kong to visit some of the teachers. She is a lot of fun and while she was visiting, we walked to the new school and took a tour of it. I CAN NOT WAIT to move into that school!!!!! Right now we are in a cramped little school with portable classrooms in the middle of the school which have no windows to the outside. Our new school is HUGE and BEAUTIFUL! My classroom is at least twice the size WITH a washer/dryer hookup, flush toilet, and a shower! It will be AMAZING :)

All of the rooms have BIG windows which overlook the Tundra :) We will have a teacher's lounge, teacher's restroom, a gigantic gym, a student store, a woodshop, lockers, a LIBRARY.... and the list goes on! Originally we were told we would be moving over Christmas break but right now it sounds like it will be around Spring Break. Who knows for sure, it changes every week.


While touring the new school we also got to look at the houses by the school. Currently the builders are living in the houses but it was approved by the district that we can move into the houses once the school is complete (that will save me a 2 mile walk every day too). Again, I am so ready to move into these houses... they have nice carpets, new furniture, a pretty kitchen, FLUSH TOILETS (which means NO MORE dumping of the honey bucket) and showers with unlimited water... no more alaskan showers for me :) It really is going to be a beautiful school in a beautiful setting!
